The steel breathers were designed specifically for applications where there are very high temperatures, extremely dirty air, or a corrosive environment. They are ruggedly designed, with housings of powder-coated carbon steel or stainless. The hygroscopic agent (desiccant) is enclosed in a bag of polyester filter material. This desiccant bag filter is easily installed when it is time to replace or recharge the unit.

In any reservoir containing fluids or semi-solids, air is breathed in and out as the fluid level changes or as thermal expansion and contraction occurs. Fluid contamination is the primary cause of component wear and lubricant failure in industrial equipment. Des-Case breathers attack the cause of contamination, allowing your equipment and lubricants to run longer and harder.
Des-Case breathers replace the standard breather cap or vent tube on a tank or reservoir. They are easy to install using one of several adapters designed for different applications. The breather is outfitted with a resilient nylon standpipe and a clear polycarbonate body which allows for easy monitoring of the high-contrast silica gel.
As wet, dirty air is drawn through the unit, a 1-micron microglass pleated filter element removes solid particulate and the hygroscopic agent extracts moisture. When the air is expelled from the container, the foam pad cleans itself by releasing dirt back into the atmosphere. The hygroscopic agent is partially reactivated by the dry air passing back through, thereby permitting longer periods between recharging or replacing.
Resilient construction provides durability and allows oil mist to coalesce and drain back into the reservoir. Replaceable polyethylene microglass filter prevents particles to 1-micron absolute from entering the system. Easy-to-replace desiccant bags remove moisture from incoming air, extending fluid and system life. Handles high temperatures and extreme environments, prevents corrosion.
